Missoula's Best Rafting & Kayaking Tours: Our 33rd Year at Montana River Guides

Montana River Guides has been rafting, kayaking & river boarding Missoula's rivers since 1994. We started doing this because we love rivers and thought it'd be great to get paid to do what we love. Pretty quickly we shifted our focus to our guests and our mission clarified. We simply wanted to give our guests the best river trip possible. So we started paying closer attention to our guests. Did they want a wild adventure or comfortable scenic tour? What were the river conditions & weather? Did we have the best equipment to keep them comfortable? It wasn't long before we realized that everything would fall into place if we hired smart, kind, thoughtful, careful, fun people as guides. Every season we try to build a team who treats each other and our guests with kindness and respect. We want our guides to share our commitment to giving our guests the best trip possible. Our job is to make sure our guides have the best summer possible. Through the Whitewater Rescue Institute we provide excellent staff training. Our guides are often called on by local first responders if there's a river emergency so we want them to be competent, well trained and prepared. We want our guides to be passionate about running great trips and developing the skills and attributes that make it possible. We want them to love the river and view guiding as a craft. Looking forward we want to look for ways to give back to the rivers and communities that we live in and work on. That's our mission now. To make sure that Montana River Guides is meaningful and contributes in positive ways to our community and that we care for the rivers that make our life and all life possible. We have built a life and raised our kids on the mighty and sacred Clark Fork River. We have always gotten our best ideas by listening to our guests and our guides. We're going to pay attention, be grateful and keep listening,..and in the meantime keep learning from the river. We're here for such a short time. Like the river we are always changing and even if we don't know it, connected to all life. Some times we just need the river to remind us.
